Xbox gift cards, Game Pass codes and digital game codes all redeem to your Microsoft account. Once redeemed, the balance, subscription or game is available on any Xbox or Windows PC where you sign in with that account.
Option 1: Redeem on the web (easiest)
- Go to redeem.microsoft.com in a browser.
- Sign in with the Microsoft account you use on Xbox.
- Enter the 25-character code and select Next.
- Confirm what you are redeeming.
Option 2: Redeem on an Xbox console
- Open the Microsoft Store on your console.
- Open the store menu and choose Redeem (it may be under the search or menu area depending on your dashboard version).
- Enter the code, or use your console camera where supported.
- Confirm.
Option 3: Redeem on a Windows PC
- Open the Microsoft Store app.
- Select your profile picture and choose Redeem code or gift cards.
- Enter the code and confirm.
Common problems
- Region mismatch: codes usually only work in the country or region they were sold for. Buy codes from official or reputable retailers in your region.
- Wrong account: check you are signed in to the right Microsoft account before redeeming — a redeemed code cannot be moved to another account.
- Code already used or invalid: contact the retailer that sold it.
- Stacking Game Pass time: if you already have a subscription, redeeming adds time; the site shows how much before you confirm.
